Data Safety & Processing

Where your data goes, how it is processed, and where it is stored.

Server Interaction

Aido is a "Bring Your Own Key" (BYOK) capable app, but it also provides default access. Here is the strict data flow:

External Endpoints

We only transmit text data to:

  1. Google Gemini API: When you use a Gemini model.
  2. OpenAI API: When you use a GPT model.
  3. Aido Licensing Server: Small checks to verify your subscription (if applicable).

Licensing checks do not include user-generated text, clipboard content, or screen data.

We DO NOT send your text prompts to Aido's own servers for analysis. They go directly from your phone to the AI provider.

Trigger-Only Transmission

Important: Your text is ONLY sent to AI providers when you explicitly use a trigger command (like @aido, @fixg, or @tone). We do NOT continuously monitor or transmit your typing.

Local Storage

Your data stays on your phone.

Data Type Storage Location Cloud Sync?
Clipboard History Encrypted SQLite Database (App Sandbox) NO
Saved Preprompts Room Database (Local) NO
Shortcuts Local Prerences NO
API Keys Encrypted Shared Preferences NO

Data Retention

Since we do not store your text usage on our servers, we cannot delete what we do not have. Uninstalling the app instantly wipes all local data (Clipboard, History, Keys) from your device permanently.
